INTRODUCTION
MEDIA24 proclaims itself to be the largest media organization in South Africa.
One would then expect from MEDIA24 to set an example to the South African press in terms of good corporate governance practices as well as adhering to all requirements of the SA Press Council.
TOTALLY
WRONG!
R1.5
BILLION GABM SOUTH AFRICAN DROUGHT RELIEF PROJECT
233
members of Global Association of Billionaires and Millionaires (GABM) have
responded to a request from South Africa to donate money to distressed farmers
in South Africa suffering from the continued drought conditions in that part of
the world.
An
amount of R1.5 Billion were collected and it now appears the R1.5 Billion
donation has since disappeared and none of South Africa’s farmers have received
a dime from this donation.
REPUTATIONAL
DAMAGE TO SOUTH AFRICA
Corporate
South Africa and international corporate donors were initially skeptical about MEDIA24’s involvement in the fraud scheme, but are now realizing it is indeed true.
Moving
forward, MEDIA24 should not expect the same
level of support from the corporate and
financial establishments as before.
The
corporate and financial establishments are increasingly taking a strong
position against fraud and corruption following the many recent scandals in
South Africa, like that involving President Zuma; and the Gupta family; and
SAP; and BellPottinger; and KPMG.
YOU
ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO ENSURE THE R1.5 BILLION IS RETURNED TO THE GABM DONORS!
